Clothing that carries one true note.
Iktara by JS is a small womenswear label built around a single idea: one honest fabric, one steady hand, one silhouette worn until it feels like your own.
View the collectionsNamed for the one-stringed iktara — an instrument that needs no more than a single note, played well.
One string, played with intention, outlasts an orchestra of noise.
The iktara is a folk instrument with a single string — no chords to hide behind, no arrangement to lean on. Every note has to be deliberate.
We design the same way. Each piece at Iktara by JS starts from one fabric, one silhouette, one purpose — refined until nothing more needs to be added, and nothing can be taken away.
No seasonal noise, no seventy-piece drops. Just clothing built to be worn often, mended when needed, and kept for years.

Nothing leaves the studio until it’s been worn, washed, and checked by the person who made it.
Come see the fabric before it becomes a piece.
Our studio is open by appointment for fittings and fabric previews. For everything else, write to us — we read and reply to every message ourselves.
